Ibsen

Last night I was in a play-reading and discussion session of Henrik Ibsen's plays, the great avant-garde Norwegian playwright who is also called to be the father of modern drama. I am very happy to know him because he has had a great influence on realistic drama. The session looked like a semi-private session between directors and playwrights, but I have to use any opportunity these days because Calgary theatre is closed during spring and summer. Isn’t that funny?
I think people of Calgary look at theatre as something to have more instrumental value rather than intrinsic value, something as an indoor family pleasure that there is no use to have it during spring and summer.
