Music in the city

Whenever I read an article on a painting exhibition I sigh deeply that I am in a situation that I cannot do painting. About two weeks ago, I was in street car in King Street west that I saw a man playing music in the street. He was on suite and tie but had mask on his face and people were walking around him very fast. His mask and the way he was playing reminded the faces of people in Rene Margit paintings.

A subject that I like for painting and photography is the musicians that play an instrument in the streets or in subway stations. They give life to the hustled lives of subways, and once again convey that there is no need to hurry. Let’s calm down and listen to music for a moment.

Our lives are getting so complex, we see ourselves as runners in a running competition, we run to reach the end point. Our modern life has dictated us to have some preliminary condition of life. We run and run so hastily that we forget the main intention of life is to love and to be loved, and that we can be happy with dried bread for dinner and not happy with the most expensive food on most luxuries tables in the world.
